Visit to the Hiriya waste disposal center

As part of the environmental project set up at the school since the beginning of the year, the students were able to discover the “Hiriya” waste disposal center located near Ben Gourion airport.

They became aware of the tons of waste thrown away every day that end up there. They understood that consumption leads to more and more waste, which is often non-recyclable and will pollute the earth on which they will live. They were able to see how to reuse objects and give them a new life rather than throwing them away. In addition, daily over-consumption was highlighted. The aim of this awareness campaign is to reduce the daily consumption of superfluous objects, reuse used objects, and separate discarded waste with a view to recycling.
