The King of Elephants and Rabbits

Based on one of Kalila and Dimna's stories, entitled "The Elephant King and the Rabbits," an interactive educational play was created to protect small animals and rabbits, as well as their territory, from elephants that trample and destroy their land. A rabbit was tasked with speaking with the Elephant King. A meeting between the animals was held, where they developed a dialogue and presented it to the negotiating rabbit. Before the rabbit left to speak with the Elephant King, the animals asked the following questions:

1. Will the Elephant King be persuaded to leave their territory?

2. Will he agree to leave?

3. Will their strategy succeed in persuading the Elephant King to leave?

During this learning experience, the students explored several concepts that became clear to them: dialogue, negotiation, interaction, homeland protection, justice, cunning, intelligence, and coexistence. The story evolved through the students' interactions and their ideas about how the negotiating rabbit could convince the elephant king. In the end, after the rabbit failed to deceive the elephant king, an agreement was reached thanks to a team of animal conflict resolution experts. These experts used the "Mantle of the Expert" strategy to resolve the conflict. The agreement stipulated that the elephants and other animals would coexist by setting boundaries and avoiding the destruction of each other's property and homes.

This experience provided the students with a fun opportunity for learning and exploration.
