Pink October at L.F.J

ree

Pink October is an annual breast cancer awareness campaign that began in 1985. It aims to encourage early screening and provide support to those affected by the disease. The initiative originated in the United States and first appeared in France in 1994, spearheaded by Marie Claire magazine and the Estée Lauder group.

Why the colour pink? Pink was chosen for its feminine and cheerful character, which contrasts with the disease, while evoking hope and resilience.

The CVL students initiated and carried out this project within the French high school. They visited all the middle and high school classes and, together with the nurse, explained the importance of this action.

A big thank you to Khatib Rasheed (Year 10), Rabah Nadine (Year 11), Hidimi Jana (Year 12), Richards Zain (Year 10), Nasrallah Joud (Year 10) and Hussein Melina (Year 12) for this wonderful initiative.
